Wind River Range

Wind River Range

The Wind River Range is located near Pinedale, Wyoming. Many people mistakenly think the Grand Teton is Wyoming’s highest peak, but it's not. The Wind River’s Gannett Peak at 13,804 feet takes the title. In fact, 19 of Wyoming’s 20 highest peaks are in the Wind River Range. The Wind River range is a great location for fall backpacking adventures.

The Island Lake trail via Pole Creek and Seneca Lake is 23 miles roundtrip with 3,500 ft of elevation gain, while setting base camp and hiking into the Titcomb Basin makes the trip a bit over 30 miles round trip.
